Ambient (Restaurant Romanesc Ambient) is a traditional Romanian restaurant on Windmill Street in Gravesend, opened on 11 December 2021 by Vasile and Corina Conduraru, a couple originally from Bucharest who moved to the UK in 2017. Around 90% of its menu is authentic Romanian fare, with signature dishes including cabbage rolls (sarmale) with ground meat, cheese pastries (papanasi) served with sour cream and jam, cold charcuterie platters and pork stew with polenta, alongside some European options such as pasta, seafood and fish.
