What happens next

1

Tell us about your event

Three short steps: what's happening, when and where it is, and how to reach you. You can preview the finished page as you go.

2

Confirm your email

We send a confirmation link straight away. Nothing is published until you click it, so nobody can add an event in your name.

3

We check it

A person at Peek reads every event before it goes live, making sure it's local, open to the public and not already listed. This usually takes a few hours.

4

It's live

We email you the moment it's on What's On, with a link to share and a private link to edit or cancel your event if anything changes.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything?

No. Listing an event on Peek is free, and there are no paid or featured listings.

Do I need an account?

No. We ask for an organiser name, which appears on your event page and can be you or your group, and your email address, which we use to confirm the event is yours and to tell you when it's live. Your email address is never shown on the site.

Can a business or venue add an event?

Yes, as long as the event is open to the public. A pub quiz, a late-night shopping evening or a gym open day all belong on What's On. General adverts for a business don't.

My event happens every week. Do I need to add each date?

Yes. Each date is a separate listing, so it appears on What's On on the right day, and each one is checked before it goes live. An event that runs over several days in a row, such as a festival, is a single listing with an end date.

Can I add an online event?

Yes. Choose "Online" in Step 2 and add the link people use to join or register. Your event will be labelled Online. If people can also attend in person, choose "In person" and put the online link in your description.

What if my event isn't in a town Peek covers?

You can still add it. Choose "Somewhere else" as the town in Step 2 and enter the town's name. Your event will appear on the main What's On page, which covers every town, rather than on a town's own page.

What if my event is already on What's On?

Please search What's On before you start. We already list many local events from other sources, and each event only needs one listing. If yours is there, there's no need to add it again.

What if I need to change or cancel my event?

When your event goes live, we email you a private link. Use it to edit the details, cancel the event (its page stays up with a Cancelled label) or remove the listing altogether. Changes to a live event are checked before they appear. If you've lost the email, choose "Your event? Manage it" on your event's page, enter your email address and we'll send you a new link. For anything else, email hello@peek.town.

Can I add photos?

Yes: a main photo and up to 5 more. The main photo appears at the top of your event page and on What's On. Photos stay private while we check your event and only appear once it's live.
